Sijun, a young man with down syndrome from Singapore that has an extraordinary talent in painting, in his episode from the CNA documentary series Limitless.
It’s always interesting to see the character of each country captured on camera, which is evident even if it’s in an art studio, rooftop swimming pool or outside in nature.
In contrast to the previous episodes filmed in the Philippines and India, the Singapore I encountered here was smoother in terms of texture with less contrasting colours in the frame. I had to adapt the look slightly to the location to get a better match for the vibrance of the previous episode, especially the many oil paintings featured here.
I think that there’s a lesson here: sometimes one has to adapt a look to suit the environment and subject matter, even if it’s just one part of a series that already has a ‘look’.
