Village Rockstars 2 is a coming-of-age story of Dhunu, a teen girl in an Assamese village who is a guitarist in a local band.
Shot and directed by Rima Das, the film offers such intimate access to the village that the performances and settings feel deeply authentic.
I worked to bring out the natural beauty of each scene, across a variety of environments and times of day, with the brief of celebrating life as the story unfolds: love, life, death, dreams and hope.
Bringing out the natural beauty of the people has also deepened my ability to enhance the richness and nuance of darker skin tones, an invaluable experience I carry into future projects.
