I’m excited and honoured to share that I’ve officially joined the Colorist Society – “the first professional society devoted exclusively to furthering and honoring the professional achievements of the colorist community.”
It was just a year or two after I took my first DaVinci Resolve classes that the Colorist Society International, as it was better known then, was founded. As a budding colorist, I didn’t yet feel confident enough to apply…but the idea lingered in the back of my mind, especially whenever I saw the ‘CSI’ suffix alongside the names of our industry’s most respected veterans.
So, It is especially meaningful that I approached Warren Eagles – my teacher for those first lessons, and who introduced me to the existence of the CSI – to be a sponsor for my application. It is thanks to him and Cullen Kelly, another teacher of mine, who supported me through this process and helped make my acceptance possible.
Many thanks as well to CSI President Kevin Shaw for the warm welcome, and to Chen Junbin for standing by to vouch for me.
I look forward to connecting with fellow colorists around the world – to learn, share, and contribute to this global community.
